Although everyone is familiar with robots, most people are unaware of the underlying physics behind how a robot operates. This project aims to address this. This activity will start with a short presentation to communicate the physics concepts in robotics, highlighting their basic characteristics and making links to the robots we all take for granted – in our homes, schools, factories and hospitals.  We will then investigate current and future developments in robotics. Participants will build a robot model and asked to brainstorm a role for their robot and design and create this from their model.
